Bambin, looks like you are going for a black and white but there is a little color left from the damage.  The gentleman's coat is a little blue and the lower right side of the lady's dress is red.  You might want to add a Hue/Saturation layer and pull the Saturation slider all the way to the left.  That should fix it.
