Last weekend I watched an hour documentary about New Orleans and Katrina, the reasons why the levees failed and the improved versions that were being installed.

Never thought that they would be being tested so soon, hope the levees do a better job this time

Looks like the southern states will be facing flooding again. I heard on the news that Memphis, TN faces the worst flooding they've seen since 1929. Holding our breath . . .

It is so hard to watch the news and see all of this unfolding and not knowing if the worst is yet to come.
Tonight on the new they gave a figure of around 385 homes underwater in one town and maybe 25 with flood insurance. Then there is the farmland that is flooded where this years crops are lost and no chance to plant the rest of the season. Then comes the part about the contamination of what is in the Mississippi and you wonder what next. If used to be that OPR would be able pick one or two disasters a year to help, but lately is seems one right on top of the other. I think we are all holding our breath.

It is heartbreaking to see people who have nothing to fall back on lose everything.
I watched the news today, I feel so sorry for the folk there.

On this side of the pond Spain was hit by several earthquakes yesterday.  There are a lot of historical buildings in the area that were damaged and 8 people died, so sad.

It is awful. So much flooding over there like we had here. They said the town of Tunica Cutoff residents werent able to retun home. 98% of the homes there had 4-6 feet of water in them. Sad

I saw on the evening news about 2011 holding a record for the number of natural disasters. Here is the latest on the Mississippi.

Our hearts go out to all these people.
