Hannie I just tried Image>Adjustments>Shadows/Highlights on my current restore and it's really made it pop!  Just the thing I was looking for! It's a tool i've noticed before but never played with. Thanks for that.

Yes, Image>Adjustments>Shadows/Highlights is such a nice tool, I don't know why the Photoshop makers won't add it to the adjustment layers.
