Well this isn't.

Most of you lot have probably seen that monster of a wedding cake in Tess's gallery from the Robinson set.

Well, I took it upon myself to have a stab at it. Here's progress so far. I'm starting to get sick of the sight of the thing, and could use a fresh pair of eyes to perhaps see things i've missed.

There's still lots to do, like the staircases which need a lot of tidying up, but i'd appreciate any ideas from you.

Thanks, Marlene, and from one newbie to another welcome to the forum.

The trick is to start off by having a good, long, hard stare at it. Then turn the computer off.

Think things through. Come back to it and stare at it some more. Stare so hard that you can see a face in it. It's an evil face. The face of evil. Laugh in it's face.

It's driving me crazy.  Cheesy

Great Job, Kevinashworth, It looks like your pretty darn close to being done.  I did find one small area at the top of the cake decoration that you probably are aware of.  But just in case.

Thanks Phil well spotted (you can call me Kevin or K if you like). I'll post a new version in a few days.

Nice job Kevin.

Like the creases in the table cloth and the nice job repairing the curtain behind. Those sort of things can really finish off an image.

Will be interested to see the final repair

I would like to see it too.  A very intricate restore for sure.

I'm wondering how it's gonna turn out too!

Thanks for the feedback. You guys are great! I've never been to a wedding and didn't even know these types of cakes existed until i did some research on google. I was thinking that the left and right of the table is a bit bare, and was wondering if anything should be placed there traditionally. But as the rules go, we're not allowed to add things that aren't there, but with all that grunge it's hard to tell what's there and what isn't!

No, don't add anything you can't see in the original.

Nice job Kevin, to see a cake like that alone would be a reason to get married.  Wink
