Not sure what to do with the piece of cloth on the left, I can't see a table or such supporting it so am not sure if I should leave it in or not.

Any suggestions about it or in general appreciated

Nice restore Athol!

I would remove the "cloth", can't tell what it is and it may even be something stuck to the photo.
