Thanks Hannie.
And MarCat - (everybody call me Kevin, or K if you prefer) - Thanks so much for letting me see the supplemental pic of the lady in question. I've been really thinking hard about getting a true likeness as you know. I been wondering what the shape of her chin is really like as there's not much to go on in the original. Now judging from what i've seen i know what to do. I can see that her chin is not the pointed type, and her lips are thinner and paler too. The way the photo is lit and the hair being exactly the same indicates it's another photo from the very same set - This means i'm gonna redo the shoulders so she's wearing an off the shoulder black dress.

Hi K
I wanted to extend a warm welcome from Florida and say that your work on this lovely lady so far is superb. Everyone else has given you the feedback you need, so I won't add to that, but just wanted to let you know I'm glad you've joined us.
Cheers!

Kevin,
I contacted the owner about the two photos, but she was getting ready to leave and will be back later this afternoon. Your first photo really doesn't show much of a dress since it is cut off. Will let you know more later.

Kevin, Hold the presses! The photo that I sent you for a reference is not the same person. That photo is the sister to the one on your photo. So I would go back and before you made any changes. I really think your facial features are spot on to the original. No black dress. . . Margie

Thank you for the warm welcome, glennab it's great to be here. MarCat - oops I hope she's an identical sister. Or a clone. Seriously? Her sister? Her hair is exactly the same. Same curls too. I have reworked a lot of it, yes. Oops.

Not to worry, i always save. Always!!!!. I've spent a while studying the two pics. Margie are you absolutely certain that these are two different people? I keep finding similarities between the two photos. Have a look below... Glennab I notice somewhere else on the forum in another post you are working on a photo from the same family and when i saw it i thought wow, there really is a strong family resemblance. You might be working on the very same person as i am.

Seriously, they are sisters and included in that group is the grandmother as a young woman and she is also beautiful!
My fault though for assuming that it was one and the same--when in doubt, contact the family. When that happens, owners are so thrilled about us paying attention to detail.

Hi K
I don't think my lady is the same one you're working on. Her hair is shorter and darker. However, I suspect she's from the same family, especially as the damage is similar.
You certainly chose a doozy for your first restoration. A kindred soul. Dive right into the monsters! Good luck with this one.

Right then. I'm prepared to say this is finished now but if there's any last minute nit-picking to be done i'll welcome it.

Kevin,
I know you have uploaded the photo but just wanted to say that I like what you did. Sorry I didn't answer earlier as I am not on the forum everyday.
