Hey everyone,

Traffic seems to be slow lately on this forum and in our galleries on Photoshelter. I'll be posting some pretty exciting news - at least I think it's pretty exciting - soon along with a new website that forum guru John Matthews has been working on.

Hopefully, these developments will help us re-energize and the pace will pick back up. There's still a lot of work left to do.

Hi Dave

All of you in admin are working so hard at keeping this thing going that I don't doubt that you need re-energizing.

I wanted to asssure you that this volunteer, at least, is as enthusiastic as I was at the beginning.  I am always uplifted when I'm working on the restorations, even the ones that are nigh unto impossible, because it's beyond wonderful to be able to apply my abilities to such a worthwhile project.  I feel that I've been given the gift of an outlet for my need to help the Katrina victims, thank you so much!

Since Mike just recently sent out a batch of images for restoration, most of the volunteers are probably hunkered down replacing pixels.

I've never experienced so many people this engrossed in giving of themselves -- not only to restore the photos, but to help other volunteers with any difficulties they're having with the images.

I want you to know that I'll be here until there are no more restorations needed.

My best to you as always,

GG

i check the forums at least 6 - 8 times a day, sometimes i log in sometimes i don't.  i have noticed the slow down too but schools are opening up, ours have been in session since the 8th....some are working hard on images some of us waiting on images, etc...lots going on i am sure even if talk is slow.  our teachers used to tell us we couldn't talk and work at the same time so maybe it bodes well for resortations when forum talk is down.

I've been the webmaster for several forums (two currently) and the slow down is part of any forum. It'll pick back up, trust me.

I sure hope it is only a slowdown, not a shut down, haven't heard from Mike for a while, and no images seem to be being distributed to work on, sent Mike an email on another matter about a week ago and no reply as yet.
I know everyone has another life as well, its just when I first came on board it seemed so lively and vibrant, now its lucky if there are a couple of posts a day on the forums.

Is it possible that the new security measures are keeping members out?

That shouldn't be a problem. We do have new members waiting to be processed, but we've also processed quite a few other who have yet to make their presence known on any of the forums.

Patience, please. Everyone's going back to school and settlling in for the regular routine.
(And enjoying the first bit of rain we've had in months-Texas here.)
With all the news reports about the anniversary, we will all be diving in again soon.
