This is where I am at with this one, not sure about the background, I can find no indication of a wall/floor intersect, that leads me to believe that it is probably a studio backdrop.

I can't see what the man is seated on, nothing visible that I can make out.

Your thoughts, ideas would be welcome.

Thanks,

Max

Max it looks like he is standing on his left leg with the right leg up on the area next to the seat the woman is on? You can just see the back of his left boot.

His right foot is up on something. Dunno what. Don't know if you'd see his left foot at all. Maybe behind the barrel? This is the blue channel.

Hi Max,
I ran calculations with cyan , gray and overlay and came up with this.
His elbow is resting on something.  Could it be some kind of a rocking
chair contraption??? Very odd.

He's definitely sitting on a stool of some sort, but it doesn't show in any of the channels (I looked at all 19 of them). His elbow is in a position consistent with his hand resting only on his knee. I'd guess there isn't any arm on whatever it is he's sitting on. His right foot may be resting on the floor (unlikely, given the position of the woman's legs) or it may be hanging down. Can't tell. Can't see any sign of a left foot either. It may well be in a similar position behind the barrel. This one's a toughy.

Wow, Max, another crazy maker!  I think he's standing slightly to her side with his right foot up on a pedal and his other foot on the floor.  Although it doesn't appear to have a back, as they usually do, the seat reminds me of one you'd see in barber or beauty shop - they have pedals to raise and lower the customer.  His posture just doesn't look to me as if he's seated. Tess has shown the closest trace of what I'm seeing but I'd guess his left foot is lower. I'm going to post a VERY rough impression of what I see.  The strip at the bottom of the stool could be a shadow or a pedestal - or both. Whatever it is, it seems to anchor it to the floor.  Right now everyone and everything's floating.  FWIW!

That's kind of how I feel about it Candy!

Tess, I can't see his left boot where you suggest, besides his body is too far behind her for it to be in that position. The only way I can make sense of it is if he is sitting on a higher stool, behind her almost in a pillion position, if he were standing behind her his waist should be at about her shoulder level.

Hi Marydh, I went searching for that shadow? Whatever but could not resolve anything positive out of it, it is not consistant across all channels.

Lurch, I agree that he is seated, I think his foot is on the floor beside the stool, she seems to have her legs out at an angle as though it is a low seat, where he seems to be seated just a little higher than normal chair height.

I tortured every channel in every colour mode but couldn't get any useful info. Cry

GK, I think that shadow is where the stool meets the floor, I know what you mean about everything floating, I think I will have to try and delineate a divide between wall and floor and try and give the impression of a floor, Her legs are the same size, I think they just look different with out the muck, I don't know, I may have made her lower legs too long, trying to get away without having to invent feet and shoes - Again no info to work from.

Thanks folks for you ideas - now I'm totally confused. Cheesy

I think Margie said it best - it's a bit like looking at clouds - everyone sees something different.

Understand your  Cheesy  and second that!

Can't wait to see how it all comes out.

My dear Max,

If you're totally confused, then our work here is done.  (Kidding!)

You're right about the legs.  You have her thighs about right, but at the right knee you've made her leg disproportionately thinner.  I totally get not wanting to try to recreate what's not there.

I think I want to address that issue, but in its own thread and when I'm a bit more alert.

Good luck with your continuing efforts on this one.

Hugs!

GK

BTW, I just saw a preview for one of the "mythical" movies coming out soon, and for a few seconds it had a pretty close up and personal shot of a kraken.  Holy smoke.  I am a damsel, am I not?  Whoo hoo!

For the proportions on the thigh and lower leg, try going to this about.com/drawsketch. I found this image that might help.

Gk,

The lower leg was as near as I could find the outline in the muck, however I have bulked it up a bit and I think it looks better.

I have put a floor in and I think that gets rid of the "floating" look.

Lena48,

Thanks for the link, it will come in handy - though I think with this one I will go with "artistic license". Now all I have to do is find an artist with a license. Cheesy

This is about as good as it gets I'm afraid - got to the stage of wishful tinkering and no great improvement.

Max, you did a great job on this and your latest restore gets rid of the floating look except for the guy's bottom suspended in midair and I can't see a way to get around it. I decided to play around by borrowing what she is sitting on and putting it under him. I know this is a no-no, but here it is:
