Greetings,

This is the first time I have tried to post something on the Forum.  I've had this photo since January 14 and I just wanted to let our gracious and patient distributors know that this is still being worked.  I may be able to finish it this weekend.  If I actually posted this successfully and in the right place then I will post my final version for review.

Think Snow,
Richard

Your restore looks fine to me.  You may want to add a touch of specular highlight to the shoes to make them look a little shiny.  Also you may want to add some sepia tone back in if you think the original had some color to it.

Very nice work, Richard.  The only other thing I noticed that Phil didn't mention was the shading on the faces of the two outer men.  It looks as if it needs to be blended a bit more to keep the edges from looking as defined as they do now.

No, no, no snow!  We're in Florida and we've already lost most of our yard to freezes this winter.  I haven't had a coat in 30 years, and something told me to hit the Land's End catalog last September and get one.  I'm psycho!  I mean psychic!  I found my lined leather gloves from our motorcycling days and have actually WORN the coat and gloves.  Yesterday, in fact.  Bizarre!  I don't know how you guys stand it. Stay warm!

Cheers

Hi Richard,
I was so happy to see this picture.  I recently restored two Kirby
wedding photos and working on my last one now.  Weren't
the blinds fun?
I think you've done a great job.  Hannie graciously sent me your original
as a reference and it was a real mess.  Glad to see it come back to life.
Sure would like to meet the bride.
(btw, I was born in Louisville too.)

Hey Mary,

This is my second Kirby photo.  The other one was just the bride by herself.

I followed what you were doing on the other Kriby photos on the Forum.  The floor on this one came from the original image you did of the whole wedding party lined up against the wall.  I used a screen print of the one you did of the bride and father as a guide to do the father's coat.

I would like to see the Kirby's when they get their fixed photos.  I hope they like what we have done.  I think they will.

Thanks,
Richard
