Seems like I've been working on this one forever (much to Margie's chagrin). Been staring at it so long I can't see it any more, so need the eagle-eye crew to tell me if anything's been missed. Believe me, I've missed some glaring things, but think I've caught at least some of them. Had a good reference photo - without it would have been really up the proverbial creek.

Progress so far:

As usual, any input welcomed.

Wow! That looks amazing! I think anything more would start to detract from the image.

Lurch, I think you did a great job with a real mess! I might have toned the paneling down a little by way of a gradient, but either way the family is going to be very happy with this one.

Lurch,

Wowwww!!!!  We're Not Worthy! It looks great. The people look great. The only thing I noticed right away was the lamp on the end table. It looks a little out of place with the rest of the photo. By that I mean it looks a little washed out especially the base/stem. But if you knock down the paneling as per Margie that might change the lamp's appearance. Photoshop miracles do happen.

Thank you all. I've burned in the lamp base that Johnboy noted so it doesn't look quite so washed out, and darkened the edges of the paneling areas. Also burned in a bright spot in the curtains that jumped out in the image posted here.

Tori, everything you see was in the scene. There was probably more, but it wasn't visible in either the original or the reference. I did take liberties with the coffee table, though. The only clue to its existence was the reflected book, and the only clue to its shape was a hint of curve in the green channel at the end nearest the people. So the tabletop itself was sort of pure imagination.

The photo has been sent home, finally. I'm sort of sorry to say goodbye to these adorable kids and their moms - they were starting to feel like family. Won't miss all those legs, though.

Thanks, Candy. That's high praise coming from she who takes on the worst of the worst (some of which I wouldn't touch with a ten-foot pole). I love it!
