Candy, I see four people - 2 seated women and 2 standing men. The frontmost woman is sitting in a straight-backed chair with arms. The woman just behind her is maybe sitting on a stool, slightly lower than the chair. There are no arms but she is resting her left elbow on something. Of the two men standing behind the women, one is much taller than the other. Their clothing suggests a date around 1920, maybe slightly earlier - really wild guess on my part.

That's what I see, also. Love the bow ties and the girl on the left of our screen is holding a scarf. Right?

I think the woman on our left is sitting sideways in a low back chair with her arm over the chair back. The man's hand is resting on the arm of the other chair, maybe covering the woman's right hand.
I don't think the girl on the left is holding anything. Probably damage. I think her hand is flat in her lap.

Question: When you have no hard defined facial features, what would you suggest? Only using the shadow and a brush, this is where I have arrived. Would like to read your thoughts. Thank you.

A real challenge KlassyLady a real challenge. I do believe the lady on the left side of the photo is wearing glasses.

Hard to tell, since the damage is right through the eyes. I'll look again at the pre-photo. Thanks for taking a look and yes, it is a real challenge.

Candy, I think Phil meant glasses on the lady on our right side of the photo? If you look real close you can see the metal bridge over her nose and part of her glasses.
You are so brave to even try to restore this one. I have looked at the photo over and over but I cannot come up with anything that may be of help.
Anything at all that you can bring back would be an improvement to what it is now. The rest you could leave some shadow/noise/blur....
You are doing a great job so far,
Hannie

Candice, you are doing great with this one! I agree about the glasses, but the lady on the right is pretty far gone on the face, so just a hint of details like what you have done is the best way to go.

Ms. Candy
I don't want you to think I'm ignoring your plea for help and eyes, but I've looked and looked, and I can't come up with anything helpful. You sure can pick 'em! Good luck with this one.
Hugs

This may be it. I'll probably put it away for a couple days, but do let me know if you see anything else. And Glenna, I know you've been busy. Thanks for looking.

Wow its a tough one Candy. I wonder if the lady we can see has ringlets and the shorter man at the back has smooth hair like the other one?

Ringlets on the chin/neck. Do a favor, blow it up and let me see again but just that area please.
Smooth I can do.

No I meant ringlets on that lady's hair, like this style. The arrow was just pointing to her.
