Hi OPRsters

I think I'm finished with this wonderful photo, but I'd appreciate eagle eyes to go over it for me before I return the restoration.

Original

Completed?

Thanks!

Hi Glenna,

What a lovely photo and what an amazing restore!
On our right side the fathers shirt against the background is fairly sharp.  What if you did that on the other side as well?
(once a nitpicker....)

Great job,

 Thumbs up

Hannie, you're a brute, but you keep me in line.  I'll leave them on the forum today until I get home from work, make any other changes that might be suggested and send them home. I almost want to print it out and  hang it here I love this photo so much.  The personification of love!

Hugs!

Glenna,

Great job!! When I first looked at your restore the father's left (viewer right), his shirt looked odd to me like his upper arm was too small. Then I looked back at the original and realized that is the way is should be. I wonder if there needs to be a little more contrast between his white shirt and the background on that side. On my screen it doesn't show well. Perhaps a little burning by his left elbow on the background.

There is something that bothers me about the forearm on his left. It just doesn't look proportionate to the rest of the arm and hand, and it may be just me. Do what ever looks best.

JB, thanks for the observations.  Would you explain in a little more detail what you mean about the forearm not looking proportionate?  Do you mean the length? He's in a bit of an awkward position, so I wasn't sure how portray that area.  Now that I look at it again, it seems as if the bicep shouldn't curve in as much.  What do you think? Maybe just a softer line near the outer edge?  I keep seeing the edge of the baby's arm, and that throws me off.

Glenna,

I didn't take time in my first reply to download your images. I did this time. You caught my thought when you said,
Quote
Now that I look at it again, it seems as if the bicep shouldn't curve in as much.

I have circled in blue the elbow area that doesn't look right to me, and added a red line down the arm. This is the area I think needs some adjustment.

I also downloaded the original and looked in the channels. The blue channel seems to show the arm line to be more straight. Note the black lines I added to where I think the arm may fall. The area circled in the grey line: I wonder if some of that may be damage and not arm which could add to the awkward look at the elbow or is a wrinkle in his white shirt.

Also check out CYMK as the yellow channel seems to show more of his forearm position. Hope this helps.

Hi!

Between all your help and some feedback from my associates at work, I think I got dad's arm in a plausible position.  Here's the final that I uploaded:

Thanks again!
