Looking forward to being a part of the OPR community. It took me forever to figure out how to post this message. I hope I do better at restoring the photos.

Hi Dawn

Welcome to OPR from Florida!

I'm so glad you've joined us.  Not to worry about any learning curve you encounter.  We're all here to not only work on our own restorations, but to also help our treasured newbies find their way around. Don't hesitate to ask questions, post works in progress to get feedback and join in the frivolity when the crew gets out of hand and starts acting up.

You can use the forum as a means to learn much of what you need to know in order to handle these monsters.  It's a treasure of tips, tricks and techniques we've all gleaned from battling with some extremely challenging images.  (It's hard work, but it's so fun and rewarding.)

I'll look for you on the forum.

Cheers!

Hi Dawn,

Welcome to the forum, you have now passed our first hurdle that we set for newcomers. It gets trickier as you go along and many fall by the wayside. Those who make it to the finish line are left with a sense of satisfaction and a desire to strangle those in charge!  Too Funny  OK, seriously there is a lot to learn, but we are here to help. The best place to start is the Forum Home page: The New Volunteer Welcome Center. The very first post is how to post your photos to the forum: http://www.operationphotorescue.org/forum/index.php/topic,2002.0.html

Have fun and hope to see more of you on the forum!

Welcome Dawn from southwestern Ohio. Don't worry about the learning curve I think we all have slid off it a time or two as we work through our restorations. Don't be afraid to have a little fun with us too. You noticed Marge's post.

Note the end of that last sentence. This girl has felt our hands around her neck more than once, and yet she still hangs in there.  Too Funny I take that as a good sign of fortitude and self confidence. (Plus she carries a big stick from time to time to get us to take photos from her gallery.)

And remember that the only dumb question is the one you didn't ask.

Welcome Dawn, glad you could join us. You'll get plenty of help here so don't be afraid to ask. All of us have benefitted from the many eyes peering at these awfully damaged photos.
