Hi!

I know some of you are using photo storage sites to reference photos you want to post.  Since I tried to upload a photo onto our forum and got a message that there is no more space for adding images, I've registered with Photobucket and have uploaded a photo to my account with them. Now I can't figure out how to post the image's URL in my messages as a live link.  Can't find anything in their tutorials. All of this is new to me, so I'd appreciate anyone who's used Photobucket or a similar site to explain how to get the photo reference into a message as a live link. Thankx a bunch!

Have a great weekend!

Hi GG, I just posted 2 befores and afters for the first time with photobucket and I'm not good at this sort of thing at all so I'm a little uneasy about explaining to you what I just did, but here goes anyway. Open up OPR's start a new topic in the workshop area then minimize it and open up photobucket. Under your photos you will see 3 boxes, use the last one the IMG one. Highlight that then go to edit;copy, then open up opr's new topic, go to edit and paste. Geez I hope I didn't mess you up with my input..........Mary

I tested to see what would happen and this board doesn't support the html code photobucket is using for linking. The easiest way would be to highlight and copy the URL of the image you want to use, then click the "Insert Hyperlink" button which is right above the smilies where you post (it looks like a globe). While posting, it will look like this:
Code:
[url]http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f110/cutters2/S4020050.jpg[/url]

When it's posted, it will work like this: http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f110/cutters2/S4020050.jpg

Is that what you're wanting to do? If you're wanting to use a clickable thumbnail, I think Imageshack will work for that, I'll test it and see.

Imageshack has the code for clickable thumbnails on forums. The link to Imageshack is http://wwwimageshack.us

After uploading to Imageshack, you can select the Thumbnail code for forums. It works like this:

Slasher & Mary --

Thanks so much for the feedback.  It worked, and I've been able to post my first photo from Photobucket.  Check the thread called "Windows around the world."

You're the best!

You need to use the last line of code that Photobucket provides you... the one specifically for forums using the [ IMG ] tags.

Or if you want you can paste the HTTP link and then highlight it rather than use the globe, use the 'Insert Image' icon in order for the IMG tags to be added for you.  If anyone needs assistance, please PM me and I'll be happy to assist!
