This is an ugly stain... need advice how to approach.

Spent alot of time on this easy photo... got deceived by small the resolution picture on Photoshelter, but I have soldiered on.

This is the last stop on my journey of this pic... need advice sorting this gents real hair from the stain and cleaning up the face. I left some "questionable area towards the top/right border as his hair is kind of wild. Staining is apparent is pretty much every channel... though can make out the hairline a little in the blue channel.

Any input is appreciated.
