Hi Everyone,

I am seeing a lot of photos being posted to the forum, without the personal information removed. To safeguard the family's privacy, we ask that you remove that information before uploading to any photo sharing site: Photobucket, ImageShack, Picasa, SmugMug, etc. To remove the personal information from your photo, you can do it one of two ways.
     1.  In Photoshop go up to the top of the menu and go to File>File Info>Description. Remove all of the personal information and save. Next, do a "Save As" and save your photo with a generic name.
     2.  Or you can create a new file with the same dimensions as your photo. Go back to your photo and drag and drop it on top of the new file and then save as above. By doing that, no information will transfer across.

If you have a photo that you have submitted to Photobucket with the info intact, go in and remove the photo and then resubmit. Your link should remain the same. If for some reason the link is broken and does not show on the forum, copy and paste the new link in place of the old by modifying your post.

Select and copy the image (ctrl-A and ctrl-C for PC) before creating a new file (File->New...), the new dialog window will have the image dimensions filled for you.

If you use File>Save for Web in Photoshop, the personal information is automagically removed . . .

For anyone using Paintshop Pro you can go file/export/jpeg optimiser and untick the save exif data.

I use the windows explorer. Just rename the image, click on the "tag" and "date taken" information. That way it's just a temporary image and the original or working image is still intact.
