Should I remove the Olan Mills stamp? It's already cropped.

Any other comments welcome.

Thanks,

Pete

Hi Pete,

I would leave what is left of the Orlan Mills stamp. Did you crop the picture and that is why part of the name is missing? The photo is probably old enough that a copy right issue is not the problem. I'm interested to see what the rest of the members feel on the subject.

Nice cleanup.

The original has the stamp cropped and I really had no reason to crop any more. The image has not been too much of a problem except the question of the stamp.

Then I wouldn't worry about it being there.  Obviously the owners cropped it to fit a frame, because Olin Mills never lets anything out without their full name showing!  lol

Here's a shot of the stamp.

The date is '91. I don't know about copyright law, but I think I remember a thread in the past that addressed this issue and it was an Olan Mills stamp, too. I couldn't find anything on their site.

Thanks for the input. Maybe I'll submit it both ways.

I would take out what's left of the name.  It serves no purpose at all and it distracts from the overall photo.  I'm sure it's not important to the family.

Nice job on this photo Pete

I got to this one a bit late but found their hidden copyright release page.  The information is here:

This photo is WAY more than two years old so I'd say take the truncated Olan Mills out - it's a distraction on an otherwise lovely restoration!

Pete, MJ is not the only one a little late. I just discovered that I called you Peter--guess I lost some brains cells that day!  Roll Eyes
