I hope you like this one. I figure that I'm finished with it, but would like opinions if you got any. Otherwise, I'll send it home.  Too Cool

What lovely photo, great restore!  I see a few yellow stains, but that  may be because I'm  starting to see spots after being out in the sun all day!

Great job David!

Hi David,

I must congratulate you on the wonderful job you're doing on this photo.  The background looks great too.
I saw the yellow Hannie was talking about, to my eye there is some discoloring of both yellow and purple in this photo.

I made a new adjustment layer, hue/sat/yellow and moved the slider to -43. This looked good on my monitor but you may have to change it up or down.

Another adjustment layer, levels, white slider to the left at 214.  Flatten these 2 layers

Made another new layer and set blending mode to color.  I chose the yellow/brown area on top of the head and painted the hair using a soft airbrush, opacity set to approx. 25%.  Cleaned up spillover and went to filter, gausaian blur 2.5.  Adjust opacity on layers palette as needed. Purple hair all gone!

I repeated the above step but chose a flesh tone from the arm andchanged brush opacity to approximately 10 - 15%, painted the face and legs and upper arm.  Do a gausian blur and clean up as needed just like the hair.  Made another layer set to normal and chose one of the medium darker hair colors and painted in just a little bit of definition in the back of the head where the hair is blurry.  If it looks too hard add a tiny gausian blur maybe 0.2.  Flatten.

The last thing I did was a curves adjustment, auto, then reduced it to 27%.  I hope it's ok that I attatched the one I worked on right onto your before, maybe I should have sent it by itself.

I'm not very good at explaining things, so I hope I didn't confuse you..................Mary

Chris, I like the color purple too but not for hair and skin! Thanks for the compliment on the tut.  I'm not very good at explaining how I do things.  I'm sure there are many other ways to accomplish what I tried to do. And speaking of color, how are those red shoes?
