My daughter is getting this at work. She has to force quit cs3 and start over. Mac with Leopard.

That is an annoying problem Kiska.  I don't know much about Mac or Leopard but here is a link that deals with this kind of problem.  Even though they talk about CS2 I think it may be useful for CS3 as well.  (the problem often has s.t. to do with  the Preferences file)

I think I had this come up for me commonly on my other Mac and was able to fix it by resetting the preference as the Adobe Knowledgebase article explains. I'm curious if that fixed it for you.
