Fundraiser
Welcome to our current fundraiser to help those hit in the Northeast by Hurricane Sandy. The destruction brings back feelings of Déjà vu of Hurricane Katrina. Now six years later Operation Photo Rescue (OPR) is facing as daunting a task to help those hit by Sandy.
OPR now has the experience of six years of restoring over 9,000 plus photos to families in disasters through out the U.S. What has not changed is our need for fundraising. We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) that truly lives up to the idea of a non-profit. No one here makes a salary and all of our expenses are paid through generous donations.
Almost everyday there are images of the devastation brought by Sandy. The news media covers stories of how photos are the most precious belonging after love ones. OPR is receiving an avalanche of emails of people wanting our help or else wanting to be part of the photo rescue. We need donations, no matter how small to help us be able to carry out copy runs to the Northeast.
Funds are also critical to be able to afford fliers and brochures to send out to affected areas. With Sandy hitting such a large area, we also need to be able to supplement the cost of printing that DigMyPics has so generously supplied these last four years.
NY and NJ were successful runs and we are currently working on the photos.
Every donation of $15 (except inner team) will have the donor’s name put in for a drawing at each run for a chance to win a year’s subscription to NAPP.
